Nope.... not a possibility really that, as Toon says whats the point of being married and having kids if you only see them at weekends? Can never really understand people that do that to be honest...

Sorry I assumed it would only be a short term contract.

Yes no this was a 3-6 month contract... 75 miles over the pennines... think in the end its not going to happen... its only when you look at it in other terms you realise how far or how much travelling it is...

dhudson, would you in reality really travel that much each way thou? Its easy to say yes until you really sit and think about it.... or atleast thats what ive realised.

150 miles per day..... 750 miles per week!
Thats almost the same as York to Penzance and back again..... every week :-) never mind the hours...

3-4 hours per day.... 15-20 hours per week..... starting to get crazy really...

I guess you are never truly going to know until you have done it for a few weeks... i'll report my findings this time next month

If it were me, and a company i wanted to work for and had the potential to be a "career" I would commute the time to see how it works out... if its something i would want to stay i would then look too moving closer

Depending on how good the job is you may just use it as a transitional job until you can find something closer.
Its a long shot but some companies will offer compensation for long commutes, wouldn't hurt to ask.
