There's so many backlink checkers now that it's hard to know which ones to trust. I've always had a quick peak at Market Leap now and again and they seem to be on the ball, they even removed MSN when it started changing it's backlink scripts.

I use the Hubfinder one among others, it's good for comparing your site with others, tbh you can't beat a link search in yahoo :)
