    Point of a freelancers site

People ask alot why certain designers don't have a website in a day and age where everyone has. I say you either have a site for fun or for a reason but the worst kind of people are those who have a site for fun but pretend it has a reason.

    Any thoughts?

The point being why have a site unless it's used for something, if it's a business site, why have one if people can't find you.

Alot of people have them but they don't always work how they should.

I've always said if you're a Graphic Designer from say Wakefield and you type in "graphic design"+"wakefield" and you're not in the first 2 pages of google you shouldn't have a site as it will do no good. Also you need at least 500 sites linkiing to your own to have a good flow of traffic.

I get what you mean and I agree too many people have a site just because they can it really serves no purpose.

What tactics are best practices to get sites linking to yours.. like you have a forum, so thats easy to get linkbacks to. But what about like a regular web designer getting flow black.

    How would you approach that?
