Post Code Search software?

Hi,

One of my clients has asked me to set up a postcode search facility on his website.

Does anyone know of any software that I could use to have a postcode search on the website or do I need the help of a programmer to set up a database? the postcode search would not need to be complicated and can be in its simplest form.

Any help appreciated,
