just playin with ya Ian. But honestly, if you understood how and why computers work how they do, you would have a greater understanding for how a lot of complex mathmatical systems... including your Mac.

Back in the day ~LOL~ we had to program EVERY function into a computer in order to get it to display or do anything. What does this have to do with Mac vs. PC?? Well a LOT. Your Mac will make you more ignorant (and I don't mean that in a bad way).. its just that simple machines like that will dumb you down, because you don't HAVE to think. The comparison is like in math.. you know what ½ is.. but if you didn't know that it was really 1÷2... you would have lost a lot in between in understanding what 0.5 is...

All computers (and complex systems) are that way and not knowing limits your ability to perform better than one who does.

wtf, why would I need to understand all that, I'm a designer, save all the boring stuff for the PC users forum.

Hammer. Nail. Head!

I only bought an iMac last week - it is an absolute pleasure to use - and although I'll still be using a PC at work for the forseeable future - I will never personally buy a PC again.

Why should you have to understand how it works?
