Well, I'm working on a new MySpace layout and right now I only have a few problems. My main concern right now is the nav bar. If yougo to Apple.com, you can see, basically, the nav bar I'm making (yes, the nav bar, at the top, with the tabs).
I've got the nav bar made, and when I make a table and post it on my MySpace, it drags the "Who I'd Like to Meet" section along with it. Any ideas why? Also, i'd like the nav bar to continue (if you stretch out the page), like it does on Apple. Oh, and one last thing. How do I post something above the banner ad on MySpace? |

There's plenty of myspace addicts here that'll help you, I'm pretty useless with it (welcome)

Hello and nice to meet you ... btw ... Generally speaking in MySpace -create your CSS file and place it in the "About Me" section -All of your html can go in the "Who I'd like to meet" -clear all the other fields I'd avoid tables in general. Also MySpace doesn't like certain attributes like #66666 color.. they would like it as 66666 Design your space in tableless style using all Specific questions: Nav Bar.. set width to 100% in your CSS The banner.. well covering it is against the rules, but you can create a wrapper that will contain your entire space and set it's height appropriately. You can shift it to cover the ad if you have to.
Using an overlay wrapper is by far the most common technique in creating a personalized MySpace. Search google for it.. there are a million tutorials.

You can see Here that this person has a image above their advertisement. If I could do this, I would also want to cover up the search bar (idk if that's possible) and the nav (Home | Browse | Search | ect. ). How would I go about doing this?
PS: Thanks for the help Tommylogic; I still can't get my nav to do what I want though. Last edited by Maniacnate; 21-05-2007 at 12:34 AM. |

Yeah.. you need to lose the whole myspace layout all together.. adn superimpose you own on top of it.. its call an "Overlay" technique. It's what I use on mine http://www.myspace.com/akatommylogic
Once you get that technique down youcan manipulate EVERYTHING on the page and put it where ever you want.. notice the whole top bar Home|search|yadaydayada on mine is now on the right under "myjunk"

simple is a relative term..
I guess the simplest way is to let someone else's tool make it for you... a generator Try to Google "DIV Overlay Generator" http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...rlay+generator
