Default Need user feedback

Hi everyone,

I am doing a website for university and i need some user feedback for it.

If you don't mind would you take this short survey : http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=98723828625

The actual web site can be found at : http://webdesignhull.lincoln.ac.uk/dcarr/dynamic

Thanks

Dave

Site looks good to me Dave, only 2 small things I'd prefer the main text justified and the header's aligned to the left. Gonna do your survey now.

Thanks toon.

the main text on the front page is just place holder text for now as the site is not yet finished. Still waiting for content from the client.

I prefer left aligned text to justified text.

As for the header I feel the text is fine where it is. although if I get more people with your preference i will move it accordinly.

I appreciate your feedback.

code-wise i shouldn't comment, and won't.
design-wise it looks kinda plain and boring to me.. the layout is good but i wouldn't mind if it was a little spiced up graphically

i liked it and did the survey

but as prewe said, design-wise it's not too exciting..easy to navigate through and everything but yeah, it would be nice if you spiced it up a bit and made it more appealing

I agree with Prewe and Tepe, the sit'es easy to navigate but needs to be a bit more striking.

I agree with the above mentioned comments. You should think about "fluid" content in center column if you're going this way.
Is this a project or a class assignment? You may consider giving the end user the option of hiding the navigation if it is a client based project. Hiding the navigation allows the content / article or main topic to be presented in its full capacity. You can do this through CSS or JavaScripting and get great results.

I dunno.. thats my thoughts. You might want to check out these two examples:

Thanks for all your comments guys and girls.

I agree the design is very basic. This site was created for the university to use, so I created it to load fast and not be heavily image based.

The university staff are very happy with the design so am happy they like it and are going to use it.

If at a later stage they decide they want to jazz it up a bit I will redesign it until then am happy with the design for now.

Thanks thats really interesting.

The site is for the university to use for one of their units. Mainly used to students getting information on the dynamic content project.

As cool as that gimick sounds I won't be using it as I feel text should not span right across the screen as this makes it harder to read on-screen text. The site needs to be accessible for everyone including disabled people so the text needs to have a certain width then go to a new line rather then going right across the screen.

Thats a great idea I may use it for other sites in the future.

Thanks everyone
