There maybe someone on here who knows dreamweaver a little better than me but I'm sure you could get a little plugin that would do navigation for you.

Fireworks can do pretty good menus. That works with Dreamweaver.

get some images together for your buttons, as well as some exactly the same size for your rollovers, then in dreamweaver, do the following.

insert - image objects - navigation bar

then just follow the instructions, easy peasey !!

Are you trying to do it so it will be XHTML/CSS compliant, because you are going to want to use CSS - not fireworks - definitely. If you use the CSS hover effect you can accomplish the same effect as Fireworks and Dreamweaver without having accessibility issues - look here:

Here is the example: http://www.tutorio.com/media/css-tut...er-example.htm
Here is the tut:

true, css is also my main approach, but i think Phil is kinda starting from the bottom up and learning as he goes along.

great if you can jump straight into css, but knowing what you can also do in dreamweaver can't do any harm.

I normally just play around by taking a screengrab of anybody's site and seeing if i can re-create it in pure css.

I agree 100% but I do really like James menu nav here..

http://www.graphic-design-forum.com/...read.php?t=616

I've found lately that many css navs are copied over and over again, but I do like it when someone breaks out and does a css menu that's a tad unique.
Can you remember the menu that used to be on the macromedia site just about everyone used it at one point. It was a nice menu the first 20 times you saw it but after that.
