I found HTML Goodies and CSS Tutorial extremely useful, as well as reading "Creating Web Pages for Dummies" the 9 books in 1 copy.
Alreet!
I want to build my own website soon which will be a simple 3 page site showing my logo portfolio. I did little web design at uni last year, but not enough to know what i'm doing now.
I know very little about web building (CSS or HTML, tables, div tags etc.). I started making it but it was basically one step forward and two steps back, and if i'm making a site i want it to be right.
I'm doing web design in uni next semester but i want to have a my site now just for work over xmas and to give me experience for the course.
Anybody have any tips, know any tutorials/books/ebooks, what to do, what not to do or just general advice for me?
Thanks in advance :)

I designed my three page portfolio on the single page concept. I like The One Page Graphic Design Portfolio Guide.
Some people don't encouraging "learning on them," but I've always used a wysiwyg editor, like dreamweaver, cause it allows me to better visualize what I'm doing. But then, I taught myself a somewhat bass-ackwards way of designing web pages.
I will be using dreamweaver too. Id just drawing lots of div tags wrong?
The way i would maybe try is making a basic template putting my information into div tags.

Wordpress.
What is that? is that a good option?

wordpress is a CMS (content management system), it can be a good because it produces valid code and updating your site is really simple. Toon knows LOTS about wordpress if you need anymore info than my pitiful amount :)
I taught myself by using Joomla, which is also a CMS like to WordPress. I've heard WordPress is easier though.
There are heaps of templates you can download, and then customize with your own style. This is how I taught myself CSS and HTML code, by studying other people's work. It was good, because I can now just about code a whole site myself.
Check the forum often for the latest design announcements. Everything from graphic design and web design, to films and music. Estetica is a great place for people to get together and help each other out.
