I can think of 1 really good use of it. In a forum, instead of pressing the edit button for your posts, you could double click and edit it directly.

No... why would they? Does everyone see an edit button on my posts? No, they see them on their own posts.

I know whtat - but by the example it seems like anyone can edit ad save the text...
It's cookie based, I can edit alot of things on this forum that way but other members can't, it's just like any logged in session, weather you have permission or not.
