Web sites as Internet’s life forms: Evolution or Intelligent Design?
Hi, I have a question.
If we could compare Internet to Nature, and web sites to organisms, then do you see any evidence for evolution? Natural selection being main mechanism of evolution, suggests that competition for survival and reproduction leads to passing advantageous traits to the next generations. At the other hand, intelligent design suggests that certain features of living things are better explained by intelligent cause.
It would make sense that only features and technologies and even trends would lead to more and more advanced "life forms". My question is: if this is true, then what are the evidences?
IMO it looks like free web hosting and illegal Photoshop and Dreamweaver are the natural selection killers. And it also looks like such redundant features as reflections, glass buttons, splatters, torn paper and masking tape backgrounds, flowing ink and circular ornaments, all cap lettering and other design elements are the ones surviving and reproducing like it's going out of style. These things don't have an "intelligent cause" explanation either.
So what it is? I'd like to hear your thoughts.
