Hi all, It's been awhile since my last post, I'm asking for advice on the direction of my learning.
So far I've concentrated on XHTML - CSS and have followed a few PSD tutorials which I'll admit is my weak point. I'd like to know if i should turn to another programming language now, or stick with the XHTML-CSS and keep working at the graphics.
I've looked at Javascript and PHP to learn.
I'd also like to learn all about CMS.
Just for the record, my short term goal for the next year or so is to be able to make websites for small local businesses and personnel sites, then expand to bigger and better hopefully.
I'm completely self taught and am working towards to change in career.
Many thanks
Any comments would be welcome.
In that case I would go down the web programmer route.
Although the web designer and web developer role does cross, and it's handy to know a bit of everything, it would be beneficial to have a strong skill in one area.
If your Photoshop skills arent too great, then your talent may lie in programming so I would stick with your XHTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP etc etc
Good Luck!
