Well, plain and simple...
![]() thats a shot from a couple minutes ago of the guest counter on the bottom left of my site. Check it out Tommy Logic™ | Total Web Soluions I was a little skeptical, but I just decided to add the Digg counter js to all my pages, articles, tutorials etc. So I guess the bottom line is, it is definitely a tool worth using if you wish to share content. If you see it, like it, share it, digg it !! Thanks.

yeah.. well, maybe. But then again, whats wrong with 16 yr old kids crawling your site.. depends on the intentions I guess. I always think people are better than they really are. I still have some hope for the human race, I suppose.

Aim for search engine results rather than traffic, get people there who are actually looking for what you offer.
That's one of the reasons I've given up on that tutorial site I was building, let's face it every tutorial is already on the net, another one won't help anybody. It's the same as directories and css galleries, there's way too many it's not worth the hassle, much better to come up with a unique idea and promote it, plus that tutorial software is a bit gash! |

I hear ya.. people are finding it via search engines. That's actually working very well. I'm just always looking for more.

While I agree with much of what you say Toon, Digg is a great site and you can use it to help build your ranking in the search engines. The all important factor is getting people to visit your site, with users looking at your stuff you are in a far better position to promote yourself than sitting on page 92 in google for your keyword term.

This is incorrect, Digg use a rel dc to stop Search Engines from following links, using Digg will not help build your ranking in the search engines, it will only generate traffic clicks to your site, google analytics will read the links but the ranking engine of google will not.

Ok fair enough, but I still think it helps a bit. And anyway if it helps people find you and gives you traffic, then maybe one of those visitors links to you and you have a result.
Traffic is the important thing. |
