Default photo slideshow for wedding

I'm sure you guys have been to a wedding reception where they had a photo slideshow (montage) running that shows the grooms photos and the brides photos as they grow up, etc. etc. Anyone have a good link to the best way to do this? or maybe even a flash source file? sorry, I'm just lazy I guess.

oh and also feel free to post links to actual software that makes this kind of thing easy for one to do. like from dragging and dropping photos, choosing the transition, and exporting to dvd or video or flash. i'm lazier by the second.

i guess i should add what features i'm looking for:

various transitions
panning
zooming
music
overlay text

'bout all i can think of.

i'm not too bad with actionscript/flash, I can get around and manipulate code that's already written, but not so hot writing form scratch.

I'm not sure what PC software is available but one thing I did learn when using mac programmes for this type of thing is you need alot of memory and disc space before you start - if it helps at all.

Powerpoint everytime.

What on earth do you mean a little more powerful? Powerpoint is designed for this kind of job, and can be very slick indeed.

Try to forget about those slideshows you may have seen where the creator has used bounce, fly in/out and spiral for the text along with a checkerboard transition (with laser sound effect!) - Powerpoint is as powerful as the person producing the slideshow.

I have been on an advanced Powerpoint course, and it is a great piece of kit for your needs, onesummer - honestly! With features to hand such as slow dissolve through black transitions, embedding Quicktime movies, custom animation routines, background music ability, and precise order/timing options (as well as the ability to rehearse timings) I think you should re-consider your options!

(Sorry to ramble)
