Think ALOT of people are not gonna make the switch. Because it is a big jump.
Some things that you thought were quick and easy, are a little bit more involved in AS3, However, the rest of it is much easier. YOu just need to take the time to learn it. I just got my crash course in AS3 with the last site i did.

Its definatly worth the time. Especially working with XML. Things that are hard in AS2 are Easy in AS 3 once you start working with it.
I would recommend: Buy.com - Essential ActionScript 3.0 : Colin Moock : ISBN 9780596526948 They gave it to us for free at FlashForward, and its one of the best books out there.IMO
