How would I go about doing this effect in flash...
What i want to do is have my portfolio thumbnail pictures small, and onces clicked on whichever one, it opens into something like.....

Hello Spiro -

I have had a quick look at your link, and see what kind of effect you are looking for...

I would go for a mask - so to summarize:

- turn the thumbnail into a button - and place onRelease(); command on the button along with a frame number or call a MC onto the screen
- display the MC which is basically two layers, the bottom one being the entire full size map, and the top one being an animated mask which over a number of frames reveals the map

I hope this helps - this is only one way to do it - but the easiest to recite over a forum!
