Flash embedding - pro and con
A List Apart has a good Flash Embedding Cage Match.
Unbeknownst to web design clients and even many designers, embedding has "issues." This article discusses those issues and presents my current fave - Unobtrusive Flash Objects (UFO). UFO is an element of progressive layout technique.

Good read that, I still use SWFObject but may have a look at some of the other options.
