Hi,
I made a animation and I want to post it on my site as a quicktime movie that will download while viewable as opposed to a swf movie. At the moment it opens from a Flash movie into another html window holding the animation(swf) which has a preloader. http://www.jimmypownall.com/eggwars2(pre).html You can also get to it through the Flash website above and going to the animation section/egg wars. Ideally I would like it to open it up as a Quicktime in the original Flash website. At this stage it's a 13.4MB swf movie. I'd like to compress it to something more reasonable and I thought Quicktime would be the best option, although I cannot get the movie to export from Flash. The best I've got is a 19.4MB movie file without any sound or controls from publishing it, or 39.6MB from exporting it, again without sound. Any tips or places to go and get what I need. ie. dowload app. Cheers. J |

Hello,
I do not think you can embed a quicktime .mov into flash .swf as a .mov. Maybe I did not understand you correctly. Anyhow, Flash CS3 exports .swf to .mov including h264. I think that is what you are looking for. The upgrade from 8 is awesome. If you do not have Flash CS3 you might try to import your .swf into After Effects 7 Pro and then Export to .mov. Or you can stay with Flash. Try On2Flix Pro. I has a douple pass feature in the VP6 encoder that does a great job compressing your size file. Best regards, Ed |

Make an FLV. thats it. thats all you need to know. load it into your current flash movie, it will stream it.

Well, after a few hours looking into some of the options I'm no closer to producing my compressed video for my website.
Ive read over some of the Adobe online documents but it seems I can't produce a FLV as the Flash 8 Video Encoder only accepts video format files so is no good for accepting my SWF. This is the same for On2Flix. I can't find a Mac version of a SWF to AVI converter. All attempts at trying to make a Quicktime movie from Flash produce dodgy results. No sound, or animations/tweens within symbols don't play on the main stage. I don't have After Effects or Quicktime Pro. |
