Default Jpgs and Ken Burns effect

I need some help here...

I'm trying to do a simple motion tween, like a Ken Burns effect, of a single jpg image in Flash (from 95% of it's size, to 100%). When I publish it, it's coming out with these weird, grid-like patterns on the image and it just looks horrible.

I've set the jpg quality to 100, I've tried adjusting the frame rate (up to 30), I've tried un-checking the "Compress movie" box... Nothing seems to fix it. I'm just looking for a smooth tween of the image. Any ideas or help for this?

If i'm guessing right, i think i might know what your problem is and how to fix it. Show us what you're working on.

Yep, that's what i figured. That's a common problem when you get flash to resize images.
I'm guessing from your fla that you don't do actionscript, but i think you'll need to.
I believe the solution to that is to resize your image using a transformation matrix instead of scaling your image.

I haven't actually tried it myself, but i think that's the way to do it. Perhaps our flash expert Mack is around to shed some light there?

Thanks for looking at it, LeadMagnet. Although I'm not an Actionscript expert, I am able to poke around it if I need to. So if you think that's the solution, then I guess I should start thinking about it that way. I'll see if I can find any tutorials on it. Anyone care to shed more light on the subject on how to do it? Mack?... Anyone?...

I'm by no means 100% certain about that solution at all, but i think that's what needs to be done.

I'm wrong about the transformation matrix. It won't work.
This is gonna bug me. I know there's a way to do it.

I want to know who is Ken Burns, and why does it get to play with all my images?

We are probably missing something real obvious, like some button in the preferences that says "Remove crappy looking grid on tweened jpgs." Ugh.

Thanks for trying, LeadMagnet. I'm stumped too!

And Zumo... I am Ken Burns.
