ghibli dvds are still 5.99/8.99 since borders/hmv store have finished their offers. I have Pom Poko on its way, as a gift from someone.

i rather liked that movie - for all it's quirkiness, think the message was rather strong

Yeah here as well. Range from £5.99 (if you're lucky(hmv.com)) to £20. What did you think of earthsea?

I've seen Pom Poko since last posting in this thread. It's bizarre but enjoyable, not my fave but a solid Ghibli film.

I enjoyed Earthsea, the art was absolutely beautiful, but one thing that i found that dragged it down was it felt a little flat, perhaps a liitle more depth into the character development was needed.
I'm finding I'm importing a lot more now than used to, e.g. amazon, or from Australia because it so much cheaper. Haven't had a look @ HMV.com b4.

well from where you are that might well be cheaper. Hmv's cheap rate is only UK. Or at least you'd have to pay shipping, if they do it.

I remember finding a horribly edited version of Nausicaa when I was a kid in a video store. I had no idea at the time it was edited and thought it was just amazing! When I saw that it was coming out on DVD a few years back, in it's original unedited version, I didn't think twice about buying it!

Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke also get a big thumbs up from me. I still need to see others that are on that list, though.

Yeah apparently the 'edited' version is a murder of the original.
