Default Quark 4.1 and type setting

Hi, Although I am an InDesign convert, I have a weekly type setting job that must be done in Quark (4.1 as this is the only version my client has and refuses to upgrade!). It is an 8 page document, purely made up of text. It arrives un-formatted and my exciting job is to apply a style sheet to certain parts of each line of text. This takes hours and I'm desperate to figure out a quick way of doing it. The find / change option doesn't work in this case. Any ideas?! I have attached a screen shot.

It shouldn't take that long if you apply no styles to the whole text then set up your style sheets and assign F keys to the different parts.

Then just on every section click the F key that is relevant. How many different styles will you have?

(Welcome by the way)

You might look at Learning @ Your Own Pace® - lynda.com. I think the lowest version they have a video on is Quark 5. Also, it's $25 per month, but a great resource. Sorry...not much help!

If I'm remembering correctly, Quark 4.1 didn't introduce embedded formatting for style sheets. So basically you'll need to do everything manually. Set up a style sheet for the bold text and make it all bold, then go in and do the other parts manually. It might be easy to copy and pasted the AUTO done in RED so that you can do it faster.

If 4.1 does allow doing the styles individually in a line, then set up the style sheets for each section. Otherwise, there really isn't an easy way to do a project like this even in ID.
