I've used freehand and illustrator for years and I could never see any benefits of freehand. I still have to use MX now but much prefer opening an eps in Illy and working with it there.

Seems to be the majority of the vectorists like illustrator better, but I started out on FH, so it's just more comfortable. That said, I haven't used it for well over a year now, so I suspect going back to it would be as frustrating as leaving it. Horses for courses...
