Hey guys,
Illustrator indicates that my artwork is 8.3 inches wide, but when I save it as a pdf (press quality default settings) my jpegs look distored (vectors are perfect).
I also noticed that the actual displayed size, even though Illustrator says it is 8.3 inches, is not that large when set at 100%. When saved as a pdf however, it is 8.3 inches.
I have included my .ai file in case anyone wants to take a peak. Thanks! :)
If your JPG isn't 300DPI then chances are that Illy doesn't recognize the DPI of the file because Illy outputs vector format files. Can you rebuild your file in InDesign? If so that's better than dropping a JPG into Illustrator. I'd recommend Photoshop too, but ID would be best.
If your JPG is 300DPI then you need to make sure your PDF output is also 300DPI but don't interpolate your JPG through the PDF output in Illy or it will look distorted.
