Default Freehand 10

Just wondering if any of you lovely people could help me out with a slight problem i've got???

I need to know how to split a design in freehand so it can go to the printers ( 4 colour prints and whatever )

Any ideas or where to look ont'interweb would be very much appreciated...

Cheers

It's in your print options....this is Mac OSX freehand MX not that different from Freehand 10.

When your print menu appears like so..

Make sure seperations is clicked and click advanced options like so...

Highlight "Print Spot colors as process"...and be sure to have all CMYK clicked.

Then in imaging select your required print marks and make sure emulsion up and positive image is clicked. (Unless sending to negative)

Thats it Print away. All the spot colour and process colors will seperate CMYK.

(Small not when printing four color process colors and screens sometimes print a tad darker so you may have to compensate for that).

Cheers for that buddy, i think my problem is that you can't bring up those options if you arent linked up to a printer (to do the splits)... at least that's how it read from my source.

I have now Kelly, haven't really used it though...

you don't (well i don't yet) have as much control over what your working on as you do with freehand. I'll get used to it eventually i'm sure

You'll be surprised how much control you have when you get used to everything.

It is just the fact i cant set the guides in the exact place i want, like i can in freehand to be honest. Haven't had much call to use either recently as i'm getting bogged down in all things web design...

I'm sure i'll grow to love it nearly as much as you guys in time

ok guys, another question for those of you who use freehand out there (i'm sure there's at least one)

Is it possible to make .svg files in freehand? I've seen you can make them in Illustrator and was just wondering if i'll have to redraw my work in illy or not??

Cheers
