Default 2 pieces of software ive switched to using.

Coda - Great dreamweaver alternative. Coda has a built in ftp so you can upload as you work. A few things it has that i really like are the terminal window for working with your database and such, built in reference books for html, css, and php, code help like in dreamweaver.
Panic - Coda - One-Window Web Development for Mac OS X

Painter X - Recently i have been doing alot more illustrating, and I found painter x to have much better brush algorithms than photoshop or illustrator. More control over your line work, and coloring is much better. One of the biggest reasons i switched to painter was the ability to freely rotate the entire canvas on the fly. Now i can draw with a much more natural wrist movement feel, like working on paper.

And you didn't know that dreamweaver has both ftp & server abilities??? ...funny, that's like the number one reason why I do use it. GREAT admin capabilities

Dreamweaver has always been a bit shotty for me when trying to do anything with server side scripting. The UI of coda imo is WAY better.
