Default Linux

I have been thinking about installing linux on my laptop, has anyone else got it? Also, what version would you recommend (i was thinking ubuntu) and what is driver support like?

I have about 10 disks of it.. i installed it on my ibook, and it took about 30 minutes then the massive 'meh' factor came into it. i haven't touched them since, in my honest opinion if you want something to run a server on, then go to Linux.. till that day just leave those ducks lye. ;)

I reccomend Ubuntu
Nice interface and very easy to use and customise. Used to have it on dual boot on my desktop (removed due to problems on the winXP side of the boot btw, if it wernt for them i'd still dual booting now)
