Student Design - First Paid Design Job Available - APPLY NOW
Hello Everyone
Anyone unfamiliar on this board of the Student Design concept please visit www.student-design.co.uk For those that are, we have been commisioned for our first project, one we are very excited about. We are opening applications to all students and recent graduates from the UK and abroad (providing that you are legally entitled to take on freelance work from the UK), and encourage everyone that thinks they are suitable for the job to apply. The project details are: A mobile phone content provider has approached us, looking to commission a number of student designers to work with them on several projects. They are particularly looking for students to work with them doing the following things: - Designing and creating graphical content on a continued basis for provision to the company’s clients and customers. A number of projects of varying sizes are planned and the successful designers may also be called to work on future projects with the company. - Managing the company’s content transcoding software. It is likely that the company will provide instruction and training to a successful candidate on the use of this software. What skills will be needed to work on the project? The following skills and abilities will be needed to work on this project: - High-level graphical design skills with experience and proficiency in standard high-end software used in the industry to create graphical content. - A working knowledge of HTML - Knowledge of search engine functionality and basic SEO skills is an advantage but not required. - Any prior experience using content transcoding software would be an advantage but not essential. - A successful candidate must be able to dedicate a reasonable number of hours per week to work on this project, and candidates must be willing to be more flexible with work hours when approaching deadlines for projects. (Exact time requirements have not been supplied by the client as of yet, but please assume that you will need to be able to dedicate at very least 5 hours per week) What will I gain from working on this project? Student Design is still in the process of talking with the client to assess exactly their requirements, at this point this project will run in one of two ways: - Student Design will show a shortlist of promising candidate’s applications to the client. Then the client will select the designer(s) they wish to work with, and at this point your contact details will be supplied to the client. You will be then contracted and paid directly by the client to work for them. - The client will supply Student Design with a project brief and opt for us to manage the project in full. We will then select successful candidate(s) to work on the project. At this point you will be contracted and paid by Student Design to work on the project. Whichever way the client chooses to go will make little difference to the outcome and both routes will provide the same potential earning for you as the designers, and both will allow you to add this project work to your CV and portfolio. How do I apply for this job? To apply for the job please do the following: - Send us a CV and cover short note focusing on your experience and training within Graphic Design and details of your strengths and skill sets. In the cover note please state why you feel you would be suitable for this position. Please ensure that the CV is no longer than 2 A4 sides and that the cover note is no longer than 300 words. - Send us two pieces of design work you have created. These pieces can be whatever you like and should show different aspects of you design ability. You may provide a short footnote with each piece giving any details you feel it is necessary for us to know. They must be pieces you have solely worked on, or group pieces where your contribution is significant and clearly distinguishable. Please attach these pieces with your CV and cover note. Please only send us files in PDF, GIF or JPG format, and please keep the file size as small as possible. When these are ready please send them to jobs@student-design.co.uk. Please state your name clearly in the Email header line. There is no official deadline for applications, but when the client is ready to award the job it will be done so based on the applications already received so sending early is in your best interest. If you have any further questions about this job please email info@student-design.co.uk Thanks everyone. |
