Website Programmer Needed

It looks like I'll be needing a programmer for a website project. The website is basically a portal for sellers of one main client.

There will be the main website in which each seller has their own website page as an offshoot of the main website. Those web pages for the seller should be able to display functionality that allows a buyer to change colors of a product or to make a custom arrangement for a room based on the items that the are being sold.

The website must also have the capabilities of allowing the sellers to order marketing products from the main website. So passwords for the sellers would be required to purchase collateral.

We're looking at adding instructional videos supplied by the client of the main website as well as some Flash elements.

I don't have the exact number of pages to be designed yet, but the project pay should be very good to the right programmer.

sounds like a big bite there.... a LOT for any one programmer to handle. ( especially since there are so many different types of coding that are going to be required, and no doubt a custom web application ) You may look into a specialist .NET or ASP programmer.

Thanks for that bit of information Tommy. Any chance of pointing me to the right place online to find programmers like this? I really need to get ones who are reliable too.

YOur right... finding a programmer will be hard... especially one who will commit...

You need to spec your entire project... as if someone had asked you for a request for proposal...

You should draw each different page of the site in every application state... and line by line spec out exactly what it is your going to need functionality wise from each section...

Just like an advertising agency brings a story board to a production house... you should be bringing your project requirements to your developers in full storyboard fashion...

If you don't... the project will grow in scope due to mis-communication... and you'll either have your developers bail on you... or you'll burn them out...

Deal locally... with people you can meet in person... it's the mantra of craigslist.org...
