Both look like you just imported a image into photoshop, slopped on some text and called it good, if your client is willing to pay 50-100$ for his banner, he is going to want top notch quality, im pretty sure highschools these days are teaching around the same skills that those banners seem to show, not to seem rude.

I suggest trying to impress the client if you want his work.

Banners and images are about compostion, so how exactly does a cannoer cannoe on sand? maybe you should try to do a image blend, showing a cannoer in the water, with a split scene blending into maybe other things the client offers. And Adding a proffesional looking text at the one side or the other.

Well so far there hasnt been any decent banner as i can see. But right enough i will have a go at it. BTW i am new here also. I will do several version in adobe illustrator adobe photoshop and flash if i have enough time. (I use cs3 BTW and 3d software Maya)
