Exclamation Looking for Designer

I am looking for a younger web site designer and graphic designer who is proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver & HTML. Knowing .css is a huge plus. Also any area of expertise in PHP, MySQL or other forms of database are also big pluses.

I am based out of Columbus Ohio, a graduate from Ohio State university. I currently have numerous on-going clients.

My work load is becoming overwhelming with lack of time to meet all obligated deadlines, so another team-ate would help tremendously.

The pay is determined by the project. Projects are billed out not on an hourly wage but a set price determined ahead of time during introduction meetings.

If you are younger and wanna do some freelance work, work with someone who has passion for web-design, and perhaps grow larger pools of client-ell, than this is your chance :)

Please e-mail me at miller.3716@osu.edu.
If you could attach a resume, maybe an online portfolio or some design work, that would be great.

Again, I am based out of Columbus Ohio, and my Contact E-Mail is miller.3716@osu.edu. If you want to catch me on AIM, shoot me an e-mail and I will respond ASAP.

Regards,
Chad W. Miller

hi, I am not proficient in php/mysql, but I am excellent at html and css, I also have good skills in photoshop, illustrator, dreamweaver and just coding in notepad. I don't have a resume because of my age, but if you ask a few people on the forum they will tell you (hopefully) that my html/css skills are really good.

Frustration due to poor web design

Majority of web designers try to design their own world on websites of their clients. They simply put the needs of their client in to the backburner. Their self enacted egos fall in their way for creating a simple website for “an average user( or a layman)”.

First of all let me tell you who is an “Average User”.

Average user on internet might not be highly educated or tech savvy. That’s why your website should be designed keeping in mind the needs and requirements of an Average User.

Interesting Facts :

”Your web designer’s highly technical jig can confuse your visitors.”

——————————————————————-

Lost in their own world

“Most of web designers are living in their own world, often blinded by their ego’s and quest to showcase their exaggerated web designing skills. May be this thinking sometimes leads them to break those subtle lines of “Quality Web Designing.” ”
———————————————————————–

Web designers grow up with a firmly stuck thought in their mind that the people visiting the websites designed by them are highly technical. But the ground realities clearly defy this fact.Often confusing navigation path and your web designer’s desperate quest to showcase his technical brilliance can lead your online visitors on that confusing path, which will results in to anger and this anger will further froth up in to distraction.

And no website owner would bear thise distraction of visitors from the real purpose of his website .

That’s why you need simple and professional website for your business. By simple website it does not mean that it should not have flash. Yes, you can use flash but to a certain extent. Say, fifteen percent of flash on your website is more than enough.

Finally, last but not least, your website should use soft colors because an average user gets easily distracted by flashy color combinations. These colors cast negative effect on their eyes.

My tips for web site owners:

Firstly, you can easily increase the acceptance rate of your website by keeping in mind the needs and requirements of “An Average User”. This will increase the web usability of your website which will naturally help you in achieving the motive of your website.

Secondly, discuss the business of your company in detail with your web designer and also make it a point to talk with him regarding the target audience to your website.

General traits to discuss about the probable visitors to your website:

1) Age of your visitors

2) Ethnicity of your visitors

3) Their marital status.

4) What about the education? Are they educated enough to understand the intricacies of the web world.

5) Their likes and dislikes.

Note: Kindly stray away from negatives and bring more and even more positives on your web site. It will surely reap benefits in the long run.

”A website is your ambassador on the web world. So, it should sing the glories of your company , it should market your products effectively to your online visitors, it should bring in more leads and more business for your company, it should also serve by giving a lot of handy tips and useful information to your visitors@
