Is the wage very low for the UK on this job? If you can get $15.00 an hour in a major city as a junior designer, you're doing good.

We set people on at $34,200.

Here in the U.S. the classifieds ask for someone who can design, program, animate and also be a secretary. They start off at only $25,000 a year in most places. I was lucky to have been making about twice that amount.

as a freelance im charging £15 p/h($30p/h) which from what i can work out is cheap! ive under cut a number of local design/print firms whilst competing for jobs without realising!!

Our rate comes out to about $125.00 ph.

and dhudson.....sometimes putting your hourly or flat-rate in the middle (not undercutting) will still get you the job. It's actually normal for a 'freelance' designer to charge less since their overhead is not as much as a regular company.

Increase your costs with new clients, you'll be happy you did.
