We are not, we do build hybrid html/flash sites and some of the stuff we build is all html. However, our market cannot get enough of the "bells and whistles" which comes from flash.

Interesting mix... I hope you're able to get your clientele steered into the AJAX and other scripting techniques. I am just always curious when I see someone advertise for a Flash designer as to why they would continue in that direction unless they just can't achieve the same results through better scripting.

Where do you find the pitfalls of flash to be where you would find it necessary to find alternative methods of "scripting" so you don't have to use it?

Generally Flash is cost prohibitive on the backside. What little bit of money you save upfront, with the content updates it quickly becomes more burdensome.
On the agency end, you end up needing to hire a Flash Designer to build and a flash designer to update content. the over all cost is higher thatn if you had spent more on the engineering and less on the maintenance. In the long run you come out far ahead.. monetarily. And even further with site loyalty and click retention. If you look through this site (search flash).. you will find that as nice as the flash site design is.. most of us click out of it before the presentation is complete. There is no way out of that other than NOT to use Flash.
