Creative Web Developer Job - Sheffield

Stafforce Recruitment are rapidly expanding and require a Creative Web Developer to join a team at our Sheffield Branch!

Job Purpose
To be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of Web enabled applications as dictated by the needs of the Company and its Customers. Ensuring that such applications are visually engaging, meet user requirement specifications, operate correctly on popular web browsers, and conform to agreed standards and conventions.
Strategic Objectives
To give accurate estimates for projects, making sure that these estimates are adhered to, ensuring customer expectations are satisfied.
Performance Standards
Ensure that Strategic Objectives are implemented to bring service levels up to and above customer expectations.
Key Duties
Analyse and evaluate the needs of the users by means of discussion and analysis, and to produce written requirement specifications / visual wireframes to meet these needs;
Plan the activities and resources involved in meeting the requirement specifications and negotiate agreed time scales;
Perform the activities involved in meeting the requirement specifications and to schedule and monitor those activities to ensure that they fall within agreed time scales;
Establish and promote development standards for programme code, documentation, error handling, security, messaging, and annotation;
Ensure that all development activity conforms to established standards;
Develop, test and maintain applications in accordance with the defined specifications, time scales and standards;
Produce User and Technical documentation for the applications as required.
Communicate with staff at all levels, both within the Company and Customer's organisations in order to co-ordinate and focus effort;
Contribute ideas, suggestions for improvement of business processes, keeping abreast of technical developments, evaluating, recommending, and implementing new technologies;
Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as determined by the needs of the business;

Specific Competencies Required
Good experience of Graphical User Interface (GUI) development / layout skills; Good experience of XHTML/CSS authoring and cross-browser compatibility, specifically for IE6, IE7, IE8, Firefox and Safari; Good experience of Flash design and development - ActionScript 2 and above; Good experience of JavaScript; Good experience of web imagery and image editing tools - Fireworks, Photoshop, Illustrator; Experience of ASP.NET and or PHP; Experience of development throughout the full development life cycle (including Design, Specification, Testing, QA and Release Management) in a structured development environment; Experience of the Operating System used by the company i.e. Windows XP Pro and / or Vista; Experience of Rapid Application Development; Some experience of Database Connectivity (SQL Server / MySQL).
