too bad i live in sweden, and it was ages since i used a mac :stuart:
Mac Operator/Pre-Press Operator - required to join our origination department. Must have detailed knowledge of all the latest major software packages including Quark, Photoshop CS2, Illustrator CS2, Indesign CS2 & Freehand. Ability to work as part of a team and individually. Printing background preferred.
We offer a top quality, tight deadline service and are looking for someone who meets our high standards.

No, but seriously, this would make a great entry job for a designer who wants to know more about the print side. It'll make you more valuable in the design world. Use it as a stepping stone job if you can get it.
It is a great entry but trade print is very tough and people never last, that's why I made the this is not a design job point
You're very right about people not lasting and the print field being tough (that's because it's boring to do other people's work (typesetting, film, plates, ripping files, etc.... but it's very important to the design world for a designer to know this stuff...which I'm sure you know).
I started out in design, then went to publishing with some production/pre-press involved and then I went to a print shop and then back to a publishing company as the art director. Now I own my own company because of the experience I got.
Note to all: If you are a young designer and can get a print job, take it.....You'll have an easier time and more leverage getting your foot in the door as a designer later on.
I'm sure you'll agree, if all designers had press knowledge if would make life a lot easier.
