$10!? does that include the client p*ssing all over you? id imagine you get what you pay for.
I am currently taking jobs from anyone for a small price. i will make graphics, logos, flash animation, for a price of $10-$25 depending on the difficulty and time needed.
I currently am working on a portfolio, but will send you samples of my work if wanted.
I will not give you the final graphic/animation till i see the money, but will show you samples along the way.

He could just be a student starting out

yeah, i dont mean any offense by that. im a student too, but my time is valuable.
Time is money!
What if they're only like 14 and trying to earn some more money, no point in slagging people off until you know the facts. Don't tell me this actually is like most design forums, you only get a chance once you're over 1000 posts?

Oh no, I don't advocate stuff like that. I like to give everyone a chance. We all do - this is one of the better forums (hence the 1000s of members and huge activity).
I just thought I'd look like the cool guy in the corner who can intermittently throw a phrase at stuff. It rarely works.
Does seem a little over hard considering we don't know the story, clients may not be big on the agenda for a newbie

normally i would be among the first to say "no lower than $20 ever" but considering the lack of portfolio doing a few jobs at a lower price can grant experience and portfolio pieces... i can say from experience that having "professional" rates as a student is not necessarily beneficial.
i wasnt having a go or anything. i dont speak for the people of this forum either, most people are nice here :D
If i owned a company and i saw that somebody was offering me a logo for $10-25 i would'nt even consider thier portfolio.
But its somewhere to start, personally i started in logo competitions to get my level up but thats just me.
i wish you the best of luck and hope you get plenty of business.
