I'm looking for a freelance web designer to do a site for my small, consulting business. I do social science research consulting, mostly evaluating programs for elderly, disabled, migrant workers - basic bleeding heart liberal type stuff.
What distinguishes my firm from others providing similar services (and what I would like to make clear from the site) is the technological sophistication of analysis and the advanced graphical representation of results through charts, graphs and interactive reporting. I definitely do NOT want the kind of site that is typical among my competitors - photo shopped images of multi-cultural service providers and recipients.
I'd like some movement in the site (flash?), and I'm currently exploring the use of Processing open source programming language to produce interactive reporting. I'd like to play with an insight metaphor.
I'm not averse to templates, and I even saw a flash-based template that I thought was pretty great. The content is ready and easily adaptable. My budget is about $1000, but I'm willing to talk about it.
