As much as I disagree with people asking for free work, I would rather put the effort in for free than see sub-par design everywhere I look because the client is tight.

But still, if this is a proper car show there should be a considerable marketing budget. The most important part of the marketing would be the visual identity. That's something that the organisers should be paying a lot for.

about that you know who runs this show hehe
a bunch of 21 year olds still studying mechanical engineering... not yet making money on our own...

+ this is all sponsor fund.... i try to get as much of the stuff i can get free means << more money in my pocket + saturday parties

If you have the money but aren't willing to spend it, then you deserve the rubbish work you'll get.

It's different when the person genuinely can't afford to pay a designer but you're just being selfish.
