Default validation help please...

Ok, Im really dreading asking this question as CSS seems so easy to validate!

Im currently redesigning my website but when validating the CSS it comes up with the following message:

Quote:
Value Error : width attempt to find a semi-colon before the property name. add it
I have no idea how to solve this - although I rpobably do - I just cant work out how!!

ANY help really appreciated!

My CSS file
My Website Redesign

Thanks,

Phil

yeah i was thinking the same, i can't for the life of me figure where the semi-colon is missing, i've checked everywhere that there's a 'width' also when i copy the style sheet and validate it as direct input there are no errors. i bet Tommy knows...

Do you have any other CSS files in your CSS folder? If you validate the stylesheet directly i.e http://www.philjohnsimaging.co.uk/we...n/css/main.css, then it passes, there must be another CSS file that is checked when you just enter Phil Johns Imaging - Plymouth Graphic and Website Design

You can change the link at the bottom of the page to:

http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/v...medium=all]W3C CSS Validator results for http://www.philjohnsimaging.co.uk/we...n/css/main.css

to show that it validates.

Could it be because your css file is encoded in ANSI rather than UTF-8?
Grasping at straws really.

ANSI and UTF-8 are standards for encoding the characters in text files. The details aren't really important, just that on the net UTF-8 is used more than any other character set so it's possible that the validation service might just not like ANSI.
It's unlikely i know, but just open up notepad or whatever you're using an re-save the css file as UTF-8 and see if it makes a difference.

Wait a second, you guys are validating the wrong thing.
The invalid css is in the HTML file, not the CSS file.

This:
Code:
<div id="load-area" style="width: 395px height: 405px"><img src="http://www.estetica-design-forum.com/images/indexpreviews/lowookepreview.png" alt="ALTERNATIVE TEXT" /> </div>
Should be this:
Code:
<div id="load-area" style="width: 395px; height: 405px"><img src="http://www.estetica-design-forum.com/images/indexpreviews/lowookepreview.png" alt="ALTERNATIVE TEXT" /> </div>
