Default css rollover text change

Ok, Ive mastered my css rollowevers on here: Phil Johns Imaging - Plymouth Graphic and Webdsite Design

(for anyone looking at my code, ignore the bit where I show the rolloverd background image to be an arrow in my css as Ive removed the files from my erver)

Basically, I was wodnering what css attriubute I would have to use to have my nav link go from so HOME to GO when it is rolloed over....

Been there done that lol

The problem with doing this is that if an image is used as the text the user can then not resize the text....

You can't resize when on rollover anyway? You only use an image for the rollover and text for the non rollover

Im either misunderstanding you or you are misunderstanding me.

Lets take for example my menu button of "Home"

What I want is that when it is just there i.e. not being rolloed over I just want it to be "Home" like it is now. However when it is rolled over, is it possible to have it change from "home" to "Go" just by using CSS and no images.

You could use overflow and padding with a load of spans in the <li>s (provided you're using <li>s), but it would become a little cumbersome.

as far as i know i dont think that's possible with CSS
i would go for image rollovers (JS)

Not only is it possible to do it with CSS, but it is simple. Check out StuNicholls tutorial here:

CSSPlay :hover craft tutorial

The Link #4 on that page is almost what you are trying to accomplish.
