Default How to get my footer to stretch

Hi Guys n Girls

Iam currently building my portfolio for online and i have come to my footer.

My footer has a background color of a beige and i want it to stretch the whole width of the browser whatever size browser the person visiting my site is using.

I thought this was width: 100% but it doesn't seem to work.

The footer is in the body tag which has a set width of 850px, as i want to website to be 850px wide, and the footer but i want the background color of the footer to expand across the size of the browser whether it be 1450px wide or 1024px wide.

How can i do this?

Many thanks

Gav

Don't put the footer div in the content wrapper and make sure you reset your margins in your body css

The footer is currently in the body tags Toon, and the body has a set width. Are you saying take width off my body - make a parent body - set width on that one and put the footer outside of it?

And as for resetting my margins - how do you mean?

Thanks pal
