Default a little help please

Well I've been learning xhtml and css as some of you may know and I am redoing my website by coding by hand!! woop woop!

Only problem is...Im slightly stuck...

The red and orange colours are purely for ease of show of the two divs.

I want them side by side but within the 830px white box in my background...

basically the two boxes need to be moved clightly to the right as can be seen...

Anyone willing to help me on how to do this?

Thanks all in advance

put your background on the containing div of the two other divs and then center that container instead of messing with positioning those two individually or whatever your doing now.

Code:
	<!-- content start -->
		<div id="content-container"></div>
			<div id="left-column"></div>
			<div id="right-column"></div>
	<!-- content end -->
put the columns inside the container.

Right, I think Ive got it now...the green that you were seeing Mack was the background colour of my content-container div, I had accidently set the margin of my right content div to auto so it was centering itself underneath the left content div.

Can you check now and let me know if its all ok with one red cotnent area and a small orange content area in both browsers? it works on mine...

thanks
