Default Know any good CSS WYSIWYG editors?

Hi guys,

I have been using Dreamweaver for years but lately I am not very satisfied with its CSS abilities. It seems to not have a good design view when building W3C sites and I kind of feel like I am loosing those extra minutes that I need in order to rap up a project fast. Has anybody been trying out anything else with better results?

I use Windows and / or Linux so suggestions for both platforms are welcome.

Cheers!

The new CS3 version of Dreamweaver has many new CSS tools... particularly when bringing comps up from Fireworks to Dreamweaver. Its validation tool is also quite user friendly... and has an in depth explination of each error it finds.

What version are you using and what is your method for designing.. the process ?

I hand code and I am ok with it in general. The thing is I was wondering if there is an editor that has a better design view. For example, when I used to design in tables, I could see the site being built from withing the DW Design View. Now, I can't really say the same thing about CSS. I open the pages in browsers to see the final result, but was just wondering about that small fraction of time that could be saved if the Design view was a bit better.

Well, I am the opposite to you it seems. I ditched DW in favour of Notepad and now all I need is Ctrl+S>Alt+Tab>F5. Rapid fire for me lol. SAVE>SWITCH>REFRESH

Yeah. I used regular Notepad for about a month, but then Flick (wherever she is) showed me Notepad++

there is no WYSIWYG that follows W3C standards exactly. they all rewrite your handwritten code mistakenly.

conversely, HOMESITE does handle the CSS very well when switch between design and code views.

agreed... and I like how DW maintenances sites as well, tracking files and links and such is an added bonus. I value the site management tools. The color coding and ability to track changes is also an advantage.
