Default (DW) woes - preview files

Hello, I'm having some minor problems when I preview my web page though using (dw) and it uploads the file to the correct directory, it creates a temp file for previewing, usually a file call 5g67004f5tmp now I hope someone can help me with this cause I keep getting a 404 error when I try to preview and everything in the address bar and so forth is on the right path.

dont preview in DW, rather upload to a server, i suppose you are using PHP? if you are using php and dont have a local server to post to you could use something like wamp Install PHP 5 Apache MySQL on Windows : WampServer and then you could just save directly to the wamp directory and then view it instantly in your localhost session.

As i have precious little knowledge about dreamweaver, or any other wysiwyg, as i never use them i hope this helps.

:)

ok, don't worry about the php mysql bit. i added that if you were using php.

I have never actually used the DW preview. Maybe you can browse through the options / settings and see if there is anything about the preview.

Another thing. when the preview is made does it upload the tmp file to the directory where ur page is located or does it put it into the computers TEMP directory? :)

Well I did a little playing around when I save the page, and preview it uploads the page to the server then all I have to do is type in the address (example: www.noname.com/test_server.html and it load it up. So I suppose it's better then it uploading a temp file. So it works basiclly just won't load the page up for me automaticlly.
