CSS because tables = ****.

There is really no argument there, and I've only used tables once, in IT when I was 14.

I have just started learning CSS, and before that I used tables..
I am very impressed with, what you can do with CSS, so I´m never using tables again...

Yeah, it really is a whole different story isn't it. And it's so powerful for such a simple language.

Yes it is, but I still have a lot to learn about css...

I´ve read this book: Head first- HTML with CSS & Xhtml, does anyone of you, know this book?
It´s great for someone who is starting up with XHTML and CSS...

No, I never really read books when I was learning. Wish I had done though, I got a few for PHP and it's loads easier than learning online.

CSS, it's a simple language that can have such powerful impact on elements or your site. Also taking into the account what Toon said about it being faster download speed, cleaner, etc.
