Target Validation

I keep checking my markup as I'm designing rather than wait until it's all finished and apart from the way I implement flash which I'll have to change, I keep getting this error...

It is possible that you violated the naming convention for this attribute. For example, id and name attributes must begin with a letter, not a digit.

What is the latest way to code a target? It's not something I've come across before?

was it supposed to be a blank page? or is it image linking to the home of the site?

It's an image to a link, I figured it now, because I haven't uploaded it to it's exact location it's referencing itself so it can't be valid.

This happens alot if you're trying to create a home target link from the site's logo it can often reference itself and won't validate
