he wants you to use a javascript flash embed rather then the object tag. it will still be w3c standards compliant.

4.01 is HTML, I'd use xHTML preferably.

use swf object to do your flash embed.

Gotcha, looks like I am using 4.01 Strict. I will need to study up on xHTML.

based off your source code your not that far off. Id change the doctype and then validate it and see what errors or warnings it returns.
