Default Can this be done?

Ok im designing my new site and i know how i want to do the nav - just a case of if i can do it with css or will it have to be flash!

Bascially when you click on one of the coloured bits it will expand down a bit and right (pushing the others along with it) to reveal Home or About etc

Now i know with the css rollovers its pretty much changing the position of them and the window they are viewed but could you make it so the rollover image stays its actual size thus pushing the others away?

many thanks:

If you really want to do indepth menu design download http://menumachine.com/ for go-live, it's worth every penny and the for the amount of use I've got out of it I would have paid double.
The menu's even work if the user has JS turned off, they validate and once you get the hang of it there's endless designs and usage.

I doubt it it's more for intense menu building where your site have over 40 pages. You only want about 4-5 links so flash would be adequate.

#mybutton a:link, #mybutton a:visited {

width: 75px;
margin: 3px 3px 2px 5px;}

#mybutton a:hover {
width: 125px;
margin: 3px 5px 3px 10px;}

I am not sure what you are really trying to accomplish besides the pushing, that should pull it off - if not. Float them left, or display: inline. You really should be able to accomplish this with CSS. Sometimes I wish I lived closer to you guys so we could trouble shoot.

It's maybe more hassle to do in css and are the links that important SEO wise as if you only have 5 or 6 links there's not going to be that much info to spider. I'd go for the flash option. It'll be a simple nav but could be quite effective and smooth.
