Can anyone name some sites that have g5 desktop macs with cs2 installed for about £200-£250 or just a mac for that price also i don't mind if it is a g4 either but g5s are better

Alex....keep an eye open on Apple.com in their refurbished section. That's how we got our 2 G5s. But the downside is that they are still not cheap. We paid about $3500 each vs the $5000 they should have been.

Have you maybe considered an IBook instead? They're more affordable...just make sure you have enough RAM to run the software you need and you'll be good.

Oh....and we bought out G5s about 2 years ago.....that's why they were more expensive too. You may actually have an easier time buying a G4 for a great price.

We have a beige G4 in our office (had it for 5 years) and it does fine with CS2. You just have to make sure your RAM is maxed out (1 or 2 GB) and the hard drive space is enough. That's where most people run into problems with the G4 and CS2. They get cheap on the hard drive and CS won't run well because it really needs more room to breath. I've had CS2 running on our G4 since last summer and haven't had any problems at all.

Alex.....here is a link to a Quicksilver G4. And these are awesome computers. Most sound studios hunt these down because they also work well with ProTools for recording. Also the price is in your range.
