I've had CS2 running on our G4 since last summer and haven't had any problems at all.
It depends how much you're doing at once, my G5 has 2 gig memory but once I've jumped from go-live to illy to photoshop to in-design to imageready to forms expert to flash to ftp cyberduck to running 8 different browsers to word to mail to quark to adobe reader then added 20 or 30 fonts even my G5 can slow and them things are built to handle that amount of work load.

If all you want is PS, illy and dreamweaver then a G4 or even one of those mini macs will be fine for you, just remember legal software is expensive as well, it's not like copying windows programmes from a pal.

My friend bought a mini mac and I was surprised how nifty they are for home computers but he only used it for browsing the web and burning films and music.

If a macs what you want, no need to aim too high you have to be patient.

* 256MB SDRAM (upgradeable to 1GB)
* Apple Keyboard
* Apple Mouse
* Mac OSX 10.3.9 Panther is currently installed as the operating system (have lost 10.3.9 disc, but still have original install discs for OS 10.1.4 & OSX 9)
* Install disc for all eMac applications & Software Restore discs

Programmes currently installed include...
* Adobe Ilustrator 10
* Adobe In Design 2
* Adobe Photoshop 7

Here's the layout we have of our G4 (except I believe we have the RAM at over a GIG):

Now for the Mac Mini's....I hear they're very good and compact at that. Might be the way to go. Except it may cost more than a refurb after you add your monitor and keyboard to the CPU.

love it and but obviously the lost 10.3.9 disk but my dad has a tiger install disk that came with his mac so not much of a problem but i would like to see side views coz i don't want it to be a big monitor i'd like it the be streamline and also it only has 256 ram way too small amount and can;t afford to buy more ram
