Just a quick note to mention a growing sector of my business. Recycled Websites
Lately there has been a significant increase in the demand for redesigned sites. Some are looking for a way to jazz up an existing site, others are looking to drive their marketing campaigns to new levels.
Either way about it, the demand is growing and I have found it to be a great excercise in creating visually compelling, cross-browser capable sites that are redesigned tableless, XHTML & CSS validated. I think a lot of existing sites still have a lot of value.. if you are in the business of creating web sites, you may consider recreating them as well... hmmph Recycled Websites.
You can check out my site here to see a little more about what it is that I do:

I prefer tables much easier!
ouch... wow. I'm sorry toon. I used to think they were easier too![]()
It s been my experience in the long run that content updates and all.. well tables are harder. I used them A LOT once upon a time.
But you know man, if tables work for you then stick to it.. me... I would rather cutoff my right thumb than use Illy everyday... LOL
Tables and dodgy stock images it's the future mate, I've tasted it!
LOL funny... "dodgy stock photos".. just what kind of side project you workin on now.. ohhh missus must be out of town.. LOL
and great big purple, comic sans button rollovers with bevels and shadows!!
Stupid question here... I use Dreamweaver for all my designing and the Design view is always where I make my page and then I go into the code and clean it up. If I were to stop using tables and go to div tags and whatnot, I would need to do virtually all of my designing in code view correct?

not really. check this out.. jus ttrust me, seems redundant. But it is the BEST tutorial on the web right now for making this change. the tutorial is for Fireworks, but also applies to just about any image editing transfer (like ImageReady, etc.) but if you're using Dreamweaver, I suggest using Fireworks too. Do you complex graphics in PS and transfer them to Fireworks if you have to.

Thats an article by Goron Mackay.. on Adobe.. aka GordonMac. It is what I have everyone do that is transfering over to my style all validated CSS & XHTML
Go-live design view is all divs you have to phsically change them to be tables which is why for young designers I'd rather they started in GL than DW.
Check the forum often for the latest design announcements. Everything from graphic design and web design, to films and music. Estetica is a great place for people to get together and help each other out.
